ELEVEN YEARS AGO I was a size 5, studied tae kwon do 6 hours a week, ate a strict vegetarian diet and could run the track around Baxter Boulevard in Portland Maine. One might ask, ‘what happened’? That is a good question. I could blame divorce for adding weight to my slim physique or claim moving across country from sea level to some rediculous elevation in Utah for adding pounds to the scale, or even having 3 more kids within 5 years to the increase in pant size but the real culprit was Fen/Phen. I stopped taking it and BAM! I was 60lbs heavier than I was to start.
Since that time I have meekly attempted to change my eating habits and exercise occasionally but to no avail. Add age to that equation and it’s no wonder the pounds have added up. The difference between the past 11 years and TODAY is that I want to make a difference in my own life. I am tired, run down, unattractive and extremely unhealthy. This isn’t the way God intended me to be and I have the power to change it.
2009 is going to be the year of change for me and to begin that, I have committed to the MD Diet program and regular exercise at the gym. To add to that, I am starting this blog for personal reflection and as a motivator for others on the same quest. Join me in my journey to better health and a life time of fitness. Share your struggles and successes here on my blog. I look forward to meeting new people and rediscovering me!
Here’s to a new self!
